Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a 26-year-old man in connection to the early morning killing of a Boynton Beach woman.
Hermane Thomany, who has lived in Palm Beach County and has ties to Broward County,is believed to have shot Anisha Williams, 30, and is wanted for second-degree murder. The shooting took place at Williams’ home at 125 Ocean Drive and likely stemmed from an argument the couple began Tuesday night, said Boynton Beach Police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater.
A man at the scene who identified himself as Williams’ cousin said he was inside when the shooting happened, but declined to comment further.
Neighbors said the area is usually quiet and were surprised that someone was shot to death in their community.
“To hear this and see this, it makes you think…,”said Jarmel Shelton, 20, who visits family in the neighborhood.
Several of Williams neighbors, including Jean Dieujuste, 43, who lives across the street from Williams’ house, said they believe the shooting was an isolated incident and are not concerned for their safety.
Police were called around 2:45 a.m. to the Ocean Drive home, south of West Boynton Beach Boulevard and west of Interstate 95. There, they found Williams on the floor inside the home.
Williams was unconscious and bleeding, and police say she was shot in her upperbody. She was taken to Delray Medical Center, where she died around 5 a.m.
Anyone with information regarding Thomany is asked to contact Boynton Beach Police at (561) 732-8116, Crime Stoppers at (800) 458-TIPS, or send tips to www.bbpd.org, Facebook.com/boyntonbeachpolice and the Boynton Beach Police MyPD app.
