Let The Inspectors Work This Time In Syria!

QuestCinq.com/Opinion

By Jean-Wisly Simon

August 28, 2013

What had happened in Syria last week was wrong, any reasonable person would ask for those who used chemical weapons against those citizens to pay for their horrible crimes. However, after the Iraq experience under the regime of unfinished UN inspection, before the Bush administration launched its War; that is something we need to take into consideration before launching any attack in Syria in 2013.

Now, UN sent its inspectors in! Before we even know what they got, apparently we want to recreate the Iraq situation altogether again. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not right to use weapons of mass destruction against anybody.

Let suppose we have a civil war in Syria, then you would think we have two groups fighting to obtain territory, right? Without proper research by independent researchers how would we know who uses what and when? Aren’t they enemies?

The international community should let the inspectors do their job first after that it could decide what will be the next step in order to punish the criminals who had used chemical weapons in Syria (it could be the Syrian government as it could be the opposition army).

War will bring about more suffering; by the way, we do not even know what the outcomes would be in that part of the world. Look at the geography, the groups in question!

Are we ready for that?
