FULL TIME: It may only be half-time in this play-off, but Uruguay can surely start their preparations for Brazil. The two-time FIFA World Cup winners were full value for their win and their quality shone through. A wonderful Edinson CAVANI (URU) free kick topped off an efficient performance by La Celeste. Jordan pressed well, and had a golden opportunity to get back into the match at 2-0, but the tie is surely beyond Hossam Hassan’s men. The return leg is in Montevideo next week, but it will surely be a formality as Uruguay look to return to Brazil where they won their most recent World Cup in 1950.
