Trayvon Martin’s Parents Planning To Release Book On Their Son’s Death, Zimmerman Trial And More

After spending more than a year at the center of one of the country’s biggest news stories, Trayvon Martin’s parents are planning to release a book about their son, his death, his shooter’s trial and more. According to The New York Times, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin met with publishing executives to discuss a book chronicling their journey since Trayvon’s death in February 2012. One executive suggested that faith could be a central element in the book, a fact that isn’t too surprising considering both Fulton and Martin’s candid discussions about their spirituality throughout the case. After a jury acquitted their son’s shooter,…

Hole In Ozone Layer Expected To Make Full Recovery By 2070: NASA

2070 is shaping up to be a great year for Mother Earth. That’s when NASA scientists are predicting the hole in the ozone layer might finally make a full recovery. Researchers announced their conclusion, in addition to other findings, in a presentation Wednesday during the annual American Geophysical Union meeting in San Francisco. The team of scientists specifically looked at the chemical composition of the ozone hole, which has shifted in both size and depth since the passing of the Montreal Protocol in 1987. The agreement banned its 197 signatory countries from using chemicals, like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), that break down into chlorine in the…

Missing American in Iran Robert Levinson said to be CIA

An American ex-FBI agent believed to have been held in Iran for the last seven years was working for the CIA on an unapproved mission, the Associated Press news agency reports. Robert Levinson disappeared during a business trip to the Iranian island of Kish in March 2007. US government officials have repeatedly called on Iran to help locate him. “We have no comment on any purported affiliation between Mr Levinson and the US government,” said a CIA statement. “The US government remains committed to bringing him home safely to his family,” added CIA media spokesperson Todd Ebitz. The Associated Press…

Kerry says Israeli, Palestinian deal possible by end of April

(Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Friday Israel and the Palestinians were still on schedule to reach a full Middle East peace deal by the end of April, and both sides were committed to the talks. Speaking at the end of his second visit to the region in a week, Kerry said the two sides were discussing a framework of core issues that lay at the heart of the decades-old conflict and would lead to the final status accord. “Both parties remain committed to fulfilling their obligations to stay at the table and negotiate hard during…

Study: Two-state solution to Israeli-Palestinian conflict strained

As Kerry heads to the Middle East for renewed peace talks, a European study finds prospects for peace are low Ahead of Secretary of State John Kerry’s latest round of peace negotiations with Israelis and Palestinians on Friday, a European think tank marshaled evidence suggesting that the realization of a two-state solution – the default negotiating position of the United States and the international community since the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993 – has become increasingly unlikely. The findings, based off a Two State Stress Test (TSST) conducted by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), were published on Wednesday. The goal…
