Obama’s day: News conference at 2 p.m

President Obama will hold a news conference Friday afternoon, the last day of his year in Washington.
The president and his family are scheduled to leave early Friday evening for their annual end-of-the-year trip to Hawaii. They are not expected to return to the White House until the first weekend of January 2014.
Obama’s news conference — which should include many end-of-the-year type of questions — is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Among the likely topics: The new health care law, the budget and debt ceiling, the president’s plunging approval ratings and relations with congressional Republicans.
