Clinton staff said to be on alert

(The Hill)…Most staffers hired for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign have no idea when she’ll announce, according to a CNN report, but have been told that they must be ready to start their campaign roles at any moment — starting Monday.

Until then, they are working out of an office meant for her personal staff, according to the report. The campaign-in-waiting’s digital team has reportedly been operating out of the space’s kitchen.

The team is also reportedly considering various aspects of messaging for the campaign, which is expected to launch in the next few weeks after Clinton signed a lease on an office space in Brooklyn.

When she launches her campaign and begins traveling to Iowa and New Hampshire, the network also reported, she will not be accompanied by her husband, President Bill Clinton.

The campaign will also reportedly look to put the focus on voters’ concerns, instead of Clinton and her presidential aspirations.

Clinton is expected to announce her campaign in the coming weeks. By signing the lease on the office space, she started the clock on the 15 days the Federal Election Commission gives candidates from starting campaign activity to announcing their candidacy. She could also announce sooner.

CNN reported that she will make her announcement on social media first. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who became the first major declared presidential candidate last month, also made his announce on social media — before he gave a speech explaining his intentions at Liberty University in Virginia.

The network also reported on Monday that she had brought on press aides Karen Finney and Oren Shur to the nascent effort.
