Agence France-Presse KARACHI La canicule qui a frappé le sud du Pakistan ces derniers jours a fait plus de 1000 morts, la plupart dans la mégalopole de Karachi, selon un nouveau bilan fourni jeudi par les hôpitaux et ONG locaux. Glastonbury festival announces visit from Dalai Lama

Glastonbury festival has confirmed that the Dalai Lama will make a special appearance at the festival. The exiled Tibetan spiritual leader will visit the Somerset site on Sunday, although no timing has been announced. A vote in Myanmar’s parliament has failed to remove the army’s veto over constitutional change, dealing a blow to hopes for fuller democracy. The bill received a majority of MPs’ votes but not the 75% needed to pass.
